Program of the workshops

This year, we have invited the following instructors to lead the workshops: the Master Class leader will be Euripides Laskaridis (GR), a Greek director, a short films creator and a performer with great interest in the theatrical impact of the body. His theatre background escalates strongly in his work, which plays with themes of ridicule and transformation. His choreographic exploration is at the core of today’s demarcation between different forms of performing arts. Another group will be led by Daniel Abreu (ES) and Bára Sigfúsdottir (IS/BE) (each for three days), choreographers and performers that have for a long time been engaged in researching and exploring new forms of movement.

Group 1

Euripides Laskaridis (GR) 17th - 21st July 2017

Group 2

Daniel Abreu (ES) 17th - 19th July 2017

Bára Sigfúsdottir (IS / BE) 20th – 21st July 2017

Idea:

The educative program Performing Arts for the Future is a project of 3 workshops for young artists and students from all over Europe. The inspiring idea is to create conditions for meeting of emerging artists with new theather legends. All participants of the workshops have free entry for the festival productions and they form the core of the festival. Participants are actively involved into the festival events and use the opportunity to build contacts for future cooperation.

We are offering:

  • To spend a summer week as a part of International festival Zero Point 2015 with the legends of performing arts and actively participate in their workshops
  • Meeting the young generation with authorities of performing arts
  • Passing on experience, creation work, and thinking to young artists
  • Maintain the fragile continuity in performing arts through a unique poetics of individual artists
  • Contacts, creating conditions for future cooperation, both at European level
  • Meeting with other artistic genres and different approaches as a prompt for further artistic work
  • The participants of the Master Class  workshops will have an opportunity to present their work last day of the festival
