Jan Komárek, Andrea Miltnerová: KOUZELNÍK HIROŠIMA

The Hiroshima Magician is a visual physical theatre performance for one versatile dancer/performer in the midst of light, shadow and fragments of black and white film. The subject is as dark as the title. The work is based on free associations with the theme and moves in the world and logic of dreams. The piece likewise reflects the powerlessness of the common man in the face of political evil, a pawn in the superpowers’ game of chess, whose well-being is of no significance to the decision makers – a theme which recurs with alarming frequency throughout history.
